Salvia is one of the oldest herb garden plants. Spice Salvian is a perennial, 30-50 cm high half bush with gray-green fuzzy leaves and white or blue violet flowers. Dried salvia leaves have a nice scent and a sharp and slightly bitter taste. Salvian is often used in combination with other spices such as rosemary. Salvian taste is a good complement to fat ingredients when the fatty taste is suppressed and therefore fits well to, for example, meat, pork and duck. It also fits well for soups, lamb and chicken.
