Rosemary is a green shrub with coniferous leaves and pale blue flowers that grow about 1-1.5 meters high. It grows wild in the areas around the Mediterranean, preferably near the coast on sandy, lime -rich soil. Rosemary can be used both fresh and dried. Many herb spices lose a lot in taste when dried, but rosemary gets a more intense taste when dried. Rosemary is a popular spice, especially in Italian and French cuisine. It fits well with lamb, meat and bird dishes but also for vegetable dishes, often together with tomato and olive oil. Rosemary also has the ability to dampen the taste of fat and is therefore often used for fatty meat such as pork.
