Oregano is also called king-mouthed though it is not any mint. Oregano is a perennial that can turn up to a half-meter high. The leaves are oval with whole or slightly toothed edge and the flowers are small and purple. Flowering takes place during July / August. Oregano grows wildly in most of Europe, Asia, America and also in Sweden. Leaves and flowers can be used both fresh and dried. Oregano should be used with some caution as it has a slightly sharp taste. The use area is very wide and oregano fits extra good to pizza, pasta, salads, tomato and immodestations and in meat sauce.
