With a good casing of marzipan usually green, the original recipe appears in 'Prinsessornas nya kokbok' from 1930
Compiled by home economics teacher Jenny Åkerström. Åkerström taught girls on Östermalm in Stockholm and had, among other things, had the four princesses daughters of Prince Carl, and princess Ingeborg of Denmark.
In the book, the cake is called green cake, but it was later named Princess Cake.
